The dog days are over

Being faithful is not overrated.

But being faithful to everyone, like a dog, it’s so overrated!

I am a very faithful person once I have somebody getting under my skin, be it boyfriend or close best friend.  Once I got you under my skin, in my heart and soul, I enter in the dog faithful mode (btw, I am born in 1982, in the year of the dog….which makes me even more inclined to being faithful!) and I stand next to that person, I support, I listen, I help out as much as I can, I am spending my time with that person when 3 other options from near by friends are waiting for me to enjoy….but no, I am faithful like a dog to the one person that I consider important.   …..well…..in life, not all our sacrifices are appreciated….and this tough lesson I’ve learned it these weeks from a person that I considered best friend and to whom I was faithful like a dog….faithful is overrated…if the other person doesn’t have the same values as you, don’t bother offering it….it will only be turned against you.

Saying this does not mean that I will not be faithful anymore.  I will, but not with anyone, at least I’ll wait until I’ll know that we share similar values in this issue.

It’s time to be faithful only for a person who has the capacity to be the same.  All the others, are passengers in my life, and I will be to them as faithful as it is a subway passenger to you on your way to work in the morning.

No more dog days for me! Enjoy the sound of joy brought by getting over with the dog’s days!

Happiness / hit her / like a train on a tra-ck
Coming towards her / stuck still / no turning ba-ck
She hid around corners / and she hid under beds /
She killed it with kisses and from it she fl-ed /
With e-very bubble she sank with a drink /
And wa-shed it away down the kitchen sink.

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are comin’ so you better run

Run fast for your mother; run fast for your father /
Run for your children all your sisters and brothers /
Leave all your love and your longing behind.
You can’t carry it with you / if you want to survive
